The Amelia presents Take Some Time

This friendly, relaxed 12 week group is for anyone who feels lonely or isolated and would like to make new connections while spending time with some of the fascinating objects in The Amelia's collection.

We will use a mindfulness technique called 'Slow Looking' to spend time with the objects, giving you the chance to really get to know our collection, as well as this you will have the opportunity to create your own art and crafts based on the things we look at.

The group runs on a Monday 10:30am -12:00pm from September 23rd to the 9th December 2024.

We are proud that this course makes a long term impact on people lives, earlier this year we recieved the following message from a participant.   

"Just a note about how the Slow Looking has helped me. Over Xmas I took a book out from the library of 100 masterpieces of Western Art and used the process of slow looking at some pictures, noting down 10 things which struck me as significant before looking to see what the book said about them. I found this very enjoyable and made me more confident about my views on each art work  I am also applying the same technique to poetry and find it really helpful."
