You can explore our free galleries and library with your classes and spend time in our temporary exhibition, which changes three times a year.

SEND schools and colleges
Groups can book free object handling sessions at the Amelia or specially developed sensory sessions. We can also offer bespoke object handling sessions linked to your topic.
We work with SEND Specialist Colleges to support young people with additional needs gain confidence in the workplace by offering bespoke work experience opportunities.
We are also keen to collaborate with SEND schools and colleges to find out how we can best support your students.

During your visit
Our site is located over 3 levels, all of which have level or lift access.
We can provide a backpack which contains fidget items, magnifiers, ear defenders, visual timetables and a number of other resources to make our galleries more accessible for your pupils. Please let us know if you would like to borrow backpacks for your visit.
Tuesdays and Thursday mornings can be busy as the library runs a Baby Rhyme Time session for under 5s, while afternoons in term time tend to be quieter. If any members of your group require a quiet space during their visit, please speak to a member of staff and we will do our very best to advise you.
