It's that time of year again! Get ready to dust off your muddy shoes and dig out your bug boxes as Park Safaris return to Grosvenor and Hilbert Park!
Back due to popular demand, Dr Ian Beavis (Research Curator at The Amelia Scott) will be leading the bug-hunting* Park Safaris throughout the school summer holidays.
An expert on the natural world and an approachable guide, Dr Beavis will be leading fun, lively and informative trails across the parks of Tunbridge Wells. The Park Safaris offer everyone an opportunity to discover the wildlife which exists right on their doorstep. Participants will learn about how to look for insects and identify local varieties, all under the watchful guidance of Dr Beavis who will be on hand to offer advice, expertise and interesting facts.
Park Safari participants are encouraged to bring their own bug spotting tools. However, these 'bug boxes' don't need to be anything fancy, a jam jar or clear Tupperware will work nicely.
The Park Safaris are aimed at families with children of all ages who want to learn more about the insects which share their home with us!
*No bugs will be harmed in the safaris, simply discovered!
