A Beacon of Hope - A talk by Anne Goldstein
Join us for a special talk on the remarkable history of The Beacon Hotel in Rusthall, Tunbridge Wells.
In 1937, The Beacon gave shelter to Basque children escaping the Spanish Civil War.
Soon after, it became a refuge again. This time for Jewish children arriving on the Kindertransport to flee the Nazis. Anne Goldstein will share how this building in Happy Valley (now a Hotel), became a place of safety and care.
