The trail of blue heritage plaques in and around Hawkhurst celebrates the people and places from our past that have shaped Hawkhurst's unique heritage. As part of the Sharing Our Heritage project we are excited to announce the creation of four new plaques—nominated by you, the community!
Who or what do you think deserves to be commemorated next? Share your ideas and help us celebrate the stories that make Hawkhurst special by completing this short survey.
What happens next?
Your nomination will be checked and researched by local historians and staff at The Amelia Scott for historical evidence. If your nomination is accepted, it will be presented to a panel of community members and leaders, who will decide which four nominations to approve.
Submit your nominations today and be a part of preserving Hawkhurst's rich history for future generations!
If you have any questions about the project, please contact Linda Redden, Rural Projects Officer: linda.redden@tunbridgewells.gov.uk.
Closing date for nominations 31 October 2024.
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
