The Amelia Scott is very pleased to announce that we will have a rolling series of creative health courses running throughout 2026!
Mondays will be creative health day with a range of fantastic courses running throughout the year.
The courses will vary and will give participants an opportunity to engage with our collection, learn something new, support their wellbeing, have fun and make new friends.
The program is as follows:
26 January - 30 March 2026 (1-3pm) Out of this World – 12 week creative writing course focussing on science fiction and fantasy.
13 April – 15 June 2026 (1:30-3:30pm) Our Own Exhibition – 12 week course taking participants through the process of creating a display in a museum – we will be focussing on archaeology and the course will culminate in a display in the museum!
15 June – 20 July 2026 (1:30-3pm) Take Some Time – 6 week course looking at and talking about objects from our collection – we will use the mindful technique of slow looking to look at and talk about objects.
27 July – 19 October 2026 (10:30-12:30) The Monday Murder Club – 12 week creative writing course focussed on crime writing
26 October – 30 November 2026 (10:30-12:30) Take Some Time - 6 week course looking at and talking about objects from our collection – we will use the mindful technique of slow looking to look at and talk about objects.
Participants do not need any previous knowledge or experience for any of the courses and they are open to anyone over 18.
The courses are designed to include plenty of time for building connections and making friends and are focussed on participants wellbeing and learning.
