Amelia Young Producers – Unlocking Collections

An exciting paid opportunity for young adults (18–25) who want hands‑on experience in the creative, heritage, or cultural sectors. You don’t need any previous experience—just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.

This project will shine a light on some of the borough’s unsung heroes: suffragists, refugees, early environmental campaigners, and other everyday activists whose actions made a difference locally and nationally. Their stories deserve to be shared—and you’ll help bring them to life.

What You'll Do

As one of our Young Producers, you will:

  • Work as part of a group of 8–10 young people recruited from the local community.
  • Collaborate with museum staff and a contemporary artist to develop a public exhibition.
  • Explore overlooked stories of democracy and activism within The Amelia’s Collections.
  • Commission a new artwork inspired by these stories.
  • Help plan public activities and events linked to the exhibition.
  • Influence how historic objects are reinterpreted for today’s audiences.
  • Develop practical skills in heritage, curation, creative production, and project planning.

The final exhibition may also tour to libraries, schools, and other local venues—giving your work even more reach.
