Victoria Cross Winners of Tunbridge Wells: A Talk by Matthew Simpson - Amelia

To mark the 80th anniversary of Victoria in Europe Day (VE Day), The Amelia Scott will be hosting a talk about local indivuduals who were awarded a Victoria Cross for their services during the Second World War.

A human library will also take place in the Upper Atrium of The Amelia, which will include local researchers and people who lived in Tunbridge Wells during the Second World War, who will be sharing their memories. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask those participating in the human library questions about their experiences and knowledge.

Ten members of the Armed Services have been awarded Victoria Crosses from Tunbridge Wells. Come and listen to some of their stories delivered by our Collections Officer, Matthew Simpson.
