Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival is delighted to present Gin and Jazz, a combined evening of entertainment and gin-tasting in association with Jonomade Gin and Local & Live's very own Paul Dunton.
Featuring the amazingly talented Sarah-Jane Hassell Trio, playing a sublime mix of jazzy classics, americana inspired tunes and modern-day hits the evening will be MC'd by local stand up comic, actor and musician Ben Thornton.
Prior to her career in jazz, Sarah-Jane performed extensively in the West End, playing leading roles in Evita, Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, Miss Saigon, and City of Angels, to name just a few.
Jonomade Gin is a local family-run boutique Gin distillery. Throughout the evening, you will be introduced by the makers of Jonomade to the journey behind distilling their handcrafted micro-batch gins, and what makes them distinctive including their names: all of which are inspired by much loved family members:
- Jonomade Classic is the family gin, designed to stand up to tonic & not to be overwhelmed.
Fresh nose with notes of anise, cloves, berries, lint and acorn. Smooth palate with notes of birch wood, citrus, liquorice, juniper and cardamom with a complex long finish.
- • Jonomade Dolly's Mix was developed to honour their sweet-toothed mother and grandmother, Dolly. It is their take on a “Pink Gin”.
Fruity nose with notes of cassis and berries. Sweet palate with notes of hibiscus, cassis, gelato and a vanilla finish.
- • Jonomade Nana's Nip is inspired by a beloved grandmother, Annie who loved a gin & orange.
Clean nose with notes of vanilla, oranges, candied oranges and kumquat. Smooth palate with notes of white chocolate, lemongrass, spices, oranges, juniper and coriander. Medium-long finish with a sweet candy aftertaste.
What better way to spend an evening of gin and jazz than in the Marquee, set in the beautiful surroundings of Calverley Grounds Tunbridge Wells.
Price inclusive of the gin cocktails.
