The Summer Reading Challenge 2022 - Amelia

Read all about it!

Science is all around you! What do you love doing? Are you a brilliant baker? Or a mega music fan? Are you the tech wizard amongst your friends? Join the Gadgeteers for the Summer Reading Challenge to discover the amazing science and innovation behind the world around you, including some of your favourite things!

Curious? Perfect! Your imagination can unlock endless possibilities..

The Summer Reading Challenge is for all 4 to 11 years and is a great way to encourage children to keep reading throughout the long break. It is produced by the Reading Agency and delivered by libraries around the country. This year the theme is Gadgeteers, which means science, innovation and making new things. It goes perfectly with a visit to Cabaret Mechanical

Children need to read six books from our fabulous library to complete the challenge. The books can be about whatever they choose. However, if you need inspiration Gadgeteers have personally recommended some amazing books and have plenty of ideas for cool experiments to discover the science all around you (follow this link to find out more https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/find-a-read). Children will receive rewards as they progress through their books and a certificate and medal when they have finished all six.

It is quick, easy  and FREE to sign up to the Summer Reading Challenge and to join the library if you are not already a member. All staff working in the library will be happy to help so do call in to see us.

We just hope you are as excited as we are to join the #Gadgeteers this summer!
