In this session, pupils have the opportunity to look beyond the effects they can achieve using tubes of ready-mixed paints.

With reference to the paintings in the Amelia’s collection, they will identify the historical shift from painting as craft to art as the paint-making process changed. The pupils have the chance to explore this process for themselves by mixing pigments and binders in a series of experiments.
