Whatever you’re going through, creativity can help. Our Creative Health programmes support your mental and physical wellbeing through a range of welcoming, hands-on activities.
Courses to support social isolation
Feeling isolated can happen to anyone, at any stage of life. Our Social Isolation Courses bring people together through creativity and shared learning, offering a genuine chance to try something new, meet others and explore our collections. You’ll always find a warm welcome and a space where you truly belong.
Programmes to support Mental Health
Creativity can be a genuine support for your mental health. These sessions offer a calm, encouraging space to explore imaginative ideas, build confidence and develop new skills at your own pace. You’ll be alongside others who understand, in an environment designed to feel supportive, unhurried and entirely judgement-free.
Sensing Culture: a group for blind and partially sighted adults
Delivered in partnership with Kent Association for the Blind, our monthly Sensing Culture workshops let you explore The Amelia’s collections through touch, sound and imagination. Each session is designed to be accessible and sensory-led, with no prior art experience needed – just curiosity and a welcoming group.
Programmes to support wellbeing
Sometimes wellbeing is as simple as taking time for yourself. These relaxed, sociable sessions offer a chance to slow down, try something creative and enjoy good company, without any pressure to perform or achieve. It’s simply about connection, curiosity and a welcoming space where you can be yourself.
Outreach
Can’t get to us? We’ll come to you. Our outreach sessions bring real museum objects and a range of hands-on creative activities directly to care homes, dementia cafés and community groups. Each visit offers the chance to get creative together, spark conversation and create genuinely new memories, wherever you are.
