Discovery Days – Fantastic Faces - Amelia

This half term at The Amelia we are celebrating you! Come to The Amelia this February half term and take part in a range of art activities and challenges for all ages inspired by our new temporary exhibition Being In-between.

Activities Include:

  1. Discover. Embark on a journey through the building and discover fantastic faces in our library and galleries. Why not take on our selfie challenge too? Pose, snap and complete the challenges by finding amazing objects old and new in the collections.
  2. Explore. Visit our "Being Inbetween" exhibition. a series of powerful photographic portraits exploring the transitions between childhood and young adulthood. Photographer Carolyn Mendelsohn's collaborative work with girls aged ten to twelve provides an insight into the complexities of being in-between.
  3. Create. Wire Faces art: Discover the beauty of wire art! Shape and mould wires into expressive faces, allowing your imagination to run wild to create your face in wire to take home. This activity is perfect for all ages, encouraging creativity and self-expression.

    Giant Wall Montage: Contribute to a collaborative masterpiece! Add your artistic touch to a giant wall montage, creating a wall of faces of our community.

All activities are free and drop-in. No need to book.
